A bit about Dave:

When people ask him "how long have you been drumming?" Dave's only response is "forever!" Born in White Plains, New York. With parents who enjoyed music, live and recorded, and two older brothers constantly listening to music and playing instruments, dave wanted to drum from the very beginning. He started playing drums and jamming with his brothers and relatives. By the time dave was ten years young, he had started his own band. Going to see drummers like Buddy Rich as a child, dave's appreciation for Jazz grew. Those drummer's can't be beat! Dave's met great drummers Like Buddy Rich, Peter Erskine, Lenny White, Jack Dejohnette, STEVE GADD. Just a few of the greats...

Dave played drums throughout school and was in the "band" and "percussion" and played whenever and wherever he could. One day dave was introduced to Gary Chester

( http://www.gary-chester.com/ ) and the drumming really started to happen. Gary showed dave how to be a dedicated, disciplined drummer and musician.

Dave moved to Manhattan, New York  City and started to play with great musicians and bands. After numerous auditions listed in  The Village Voice, dave met Gregg Swann. They performed and toured locally and soon  got on Polygram records. They toured and performed throughout the United States and Europe.

Around this time dave met and played with  The Soul Assassins, (learn more about this band at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Original_Soul_Assassins)  who at one show played to a crowd of 20,000 people!

Then there was the band "Splatter" who were on Sony records and dave continued to tour, record, perform and began teaching as well.

Music has enabled dave to travel extensively and live in a variety of cities. Today, Dave lives in San Diego .

Dave  enjoys performing and teaching daily. (This site last updated June 26, 2009)

In addition to dave's private students, he is currently teaching young drummers at The Hope Elementary School in Carlsbad and at the Paul Green School of Rock in Vista...
